The Kansas City Royals have re-signed pitcher Bruce Chen to a new contract.
Chen, 36, will make $4.25 million in 2014 according to Jon Heyman. The new deal also contains a mutual option worth $5.5 million for 2015.

Last season Chen pitched 121 innings for the Royals posting a 3.27 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. He should occupy a spot in the Royals rotation to start the season.
