The San Diego Padres have signed Rod Barajas as the manager of their rookie-level team in the Arizona League.
Barajas, 38, was a solid backstop for 14 seasons playing as recently as 2012 with Pittsburgh. If this is the end of the road for Barajas he will end his career with a .235/.284/.407 line with 136 home runs and 480 RBI.
Rod Barajas, who spent 14 seasons in the big leagues, will manage the #Padres AZL entry. Team tried to acquire him in the past as a player.

Barajas was not mentioned at all last season after Arizona dropped him at the end of spring training. His playing days are over.
