The Houston Texans (2-14) will have the No. 1 Draft pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Needing a loss, the Texans started Matt Schaub and earned their 14th straight loss to close out the season. Schaub finished a Week 17 loss to the Tennessee Titans 22-of-34 for 229 yards and two interceptions.
The Texans will save $4 million against the salary cap by cutting Schaub. Ironically the last pass of Schaub’s career with the Texans was intercepted.
In ten appearances this season, Schaub completed 219-of-358 passes for 2,310 yards and a 10:14 TD:INT ratio. He’s nothing more than a backup going forward.
