The Washington Nationals have signed Chris Snyder to a minor league deal.

Snyder, 32, can earn $1 million if he makes the Nationals out of spring training. His contract also contains other incentives.

The veteran Snyder would provide the Nationals with a power bat off the bench and behind the plate if he makes the roster. He will compete for the Nationals back-up catchers job.
