The Boston Red Sox have re-signed Mike Napoli.

Napoli, 32, made just $5 million during the 2013 season after the Red Sox backed out of a previously agreed to deal over concerns about the status of his hip. Napoli responded well in his first year in Boston hitting .259/.360/.482 with 23 home runs and 92 RBI in 139 games.

Now Napoli has been rewarded with a new two-year deal worth $32 million.

Still there are reports that Napoli had at-least one deal from another team which topped the offer of Boston. It is unknown if that offer came from Seattle, Texas or Miami who all had shown interest in the slugger of late.

Napoli was a key part of the Red Sox winning the World Series in 2013 and the two sides will again be working towards that goal in 2014.
