The Miami Marlins have added another free agent.
Rafael Furcal has signed a one-year deal to serve as the second baseman of the Marlins. Furcal, 36, missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
The move will allow the Marlins to keep Adeiny Hechavarria at shortstop.
Sources: #MARLINS agree with Rafael Furcal on one-year contract, pending physical. Plan is for Furcal to be everyday second baseman.

Furcal batted .264/.325/.346 with five homers and 12 steals in 2012 for the Cardinals. He becomes the second notable name to land with the Marlins after the team signed Jarrod Saltalmacchia earlier this week.
