Brian Wilson is about to turn 13 2/3 innings of work into a big contract, it just may be as a setup man.
The 31-year-old Wilson finished with a 0.66 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP in 2013 for the Los Angeles Dodgers and according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal he may stay with the team acting as a setup man.
Wilson was said to be talking to a handful of teams at the beginning of free agency and reportedly in discussions with the Detroit Tigers as recently as a week ago. Since that time the Tigers have signed Joe Nathan leaving Wilson still looking for a job.
Kenley Jansen will be the closer for the Dodgers in 2014 but if he struggles Wilson could easily claim the role. Stay tuned.
