Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been handed one-year suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
While appearing on Monday Night Countdown, Adam Schefter announced that Browner has been suspended for a year.
Browner is appealing the suspension. Last season he was suspended for four games.
If Browner’s suspension is upheld then he will not be able to return until Week 13 of the 2014 season. Of course if all of this is true it’s likely that he has played his last game with the Seahawks as he is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
The Seahawks recently lost Walter Thurmond III to a four game suspension for PED use meaning they will be thin at cornerback going forward.
For what its worth, Browner tweeted that he was not facing a suspension.
I'm not facing suspension for PEDs, it's sad that the NFL is reporting this…

Marcus Trufant worked out for the Seahawks on Monday. He has been looking for work since being cut at the end of the preseason by Jacksonville. Trufant spent ten seasons of his career with the Seahawks and represents the best available option.
