The Los Angeles Dodgers signed veteran right handed pitcher Dan Haren to a one-year deal on Sunday.
Haren, 33, struggled for much of the 2013 season with Washington posting a 10-14 record, 4.67 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 31 games. It was the second straight down season for Haren but since his WHIP over the last two seasons (1.29, 1.24) remains respectable he’s a good bet to bounce back especially in the pitcher-friendly Dodger Stadium.
A team like the Dodgers could take the risk of signing Haren to a $10 million deal knowing they have additional resources should he prove to be unproductive.
