The Toronto Blue Jays made the decision on Thursday to exercise the 2014 options of Casey Janssen, Adam Lind and Mark Derosa. An option on Munenori Kawasaki was declined.
Lind will earn $7 million to play in the outfield while Janssen will earn $4 million as the teams closer. The Blue Jays are hoping that DeRosa returns for the 2014 season at a salary of$750,000 to add depth to their bench.
Janssen, 32, posted a 4-1 record 2.55 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and converted 34 of his 36 save chances during his first full season as a closer.
The 30-year-old Lind compiled his best season since 2009 when he hit .288/.357/.854 with 23 home runs, 67 RBI and 67 runs scored in 143 games last season.
