The Oakland Raiders released backup quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday and have been seeking to find an upgrade at the position of Terelle Pryor’s backup.
Trent Edwards is the latest name to be mentioned in a carousal of names. Edwards threw just two passes last season while serving as a backup for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Edwards was in camp with the Raiders in 2011 but failed to make the team. Best known for his three years with the Bills, Edwards holds a 14-19 record as a starter.
The Chicago Bears cut Edwards at the end of the preseason this year.
