The Buffalo Bills appear to have avoided a high ankle sprain to star running back C.J. Spiller.

A league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Spiller will be active for Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Spiller said that there was a chance he would play in the game. Fred Jackson (knee) is also expected to be ready for Thursday’s game.

The Bills have Tashard Choice as their third running back. Choice has five carries this season and the Bills may be forced to expand his role in Thursday’s game.
