Carlos Gomez hit a home run in the first inning of Wednesday nights game against the Atlanta Braves. After making contact with the ball Gomez stared at it leaving the yard and ran around the bases yelling at infielders on the Braves.
He was then prevented from touching home plate by catcher Brian McCann.
The benches cleared. Gomez and Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez were tossed from the game. Gomez entered the game with a career high 22 home runs. He never touched home plate on Wednesday night but will get credit with the home run since McCann prevented him from reaching it.
