The Washington Nationals are willing to part with starting pitcher Dan Haren but the price will be steep.
Haren, 32, passed though waivers last month and can be traded to any team.
On the season Haren is just 8-11 with a 4.66 ERA and a 1.24 ERA but the 6-foot-5 right hander has thrown considerably better since the beginning of July. Since July Haren holds a 2.53 ERA and a 54/11 K/BB ratio in 57 innings of work.
Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Dispatch is on of many reporting that the Nationals are wanting a group of prospects for Haren. Washington sets to earn draft picks in the off-season for Haren if he signs with another club.
Whether of not anyone will meet the Nationals asking price remains to be seen but teams have just a few days to make trades that would allow players to appear on their postseason roster.
