Chris Tillman has been added to the American League All-Star team as a replacement for Justin Verlander.
Verlander will not be available to pitch in the All-Star game since he is pitching on Sunday.
The selection of Tillman is a bit questionable. While Tillman has 11 victories this season his other numbers do not stand out. Tillman has a 3.95 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 89 strikeouts over 111 2/3 innings of work.
Sergio Romo added to NL Roster
San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo has been added to the National Leagues roster for the All-Star game. Romo will replace Jordan Zimmerman who is dealing with a neck injury.
Romo has a 2.86 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 34 2/3 innings while saving 21 games. It will be his first All-Star selection.
