The Atlanta Braves do not expect starting pitcher Kris Medlen to miss his next start. Medlen was hit in the left leg by a comebacker in the second inning on Wednesday night against Toronto.
Medlen never returned to the mound in the third inning and the Braves declared the right hander out with a upper calf contusion.
Prior to exiting he allowed three runs on four hits and a walk.
Medlen was 10-1 in 2012 but the Braves have struggled in his starts this season. Despite all this Medlen has a 3.48 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. He will seek to improve those numbers on Monday against Pittsburgh.
