The Cleveland Indians have activated first basemen Nick Swisher from the paternity list. Swisher had been away for a few days after his wife gave birth to a baby girl.
Born on May 21, Swisher and his wife actress Joanna Garcia-Swisher revealed the baby’s name to be Emerson Jay Swisher.
“We are overjoyed, blessed and so full of love that our daughter Emme has finally arrived,” a statement from the couple read. “She is healthy, beautiful and vibrant. It’s the best feeling in the world.”
Swisher returns to a .274/.382/.493 line with six home runs and 16 RBI. His return will send Cord Phelps back to Triple-A. Phelps was 0-for-1 during his second stint with the Indians this season.
