Tim Hudson defeated the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night to earn his 200th career victory. It was a complete performance by Hudson who used his arm and his bat to defeat the division rival.

On the mound Hudson was his usual self going seven innings allowing one run. The veteran starter recorded six strikeouts and relied on the ground ball. In Hudson’s seventh and final inning he allowed a leadoff triple to Ian Desmond before stranding the Nationals shortstop at third to end the inning.

It was a similar performance by Hudson at the plate. In the fifth inning Hudson hit a solo homerun off of Gio Gonzalez, although he did get a big of an assist off the glove of Bryce Harper. It was the third career home run for Hudson who previously hit home runs in 2011 and 2009.
