The Baltimore Orioles added newly acquired catcher Chris Snyder to the roster on Tuesday. Snyder was acquired from the Angels for pitcher Rob Delaney.

Snyder, 32, will serve as the backup to Matt Wieters while Taylor Teagarden is on the disabled list.

In order to place Snyder on the roster the Orioles sent down Luis Exposito. Exposito was called up when Teagarden initially suffered a thumb injury.

Snyder’s contributions to the Orioles are expected to be minimal. Teagarden appeared in just 22 games last season. In parts of nine seasons Snyder has a .225/.329/.385 line.
