Newly drafted Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Matt Barkley says he is “good to go” for team activities. Barkley was drafted by the Eagles at the start of the fourth round.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the former USC quarterback was not 100 percent in pre-draft workouts but has healed since. Of concern with Barkley has been his throwing shoulder after he injured it towards the end of the college football season.
“I just can’t wait to get into minicamps and prove myself and show that I do have a strong arm, and I am capable of playing in this league, and playing strong,” Barkley said.
The Eagles are expected to go with Michael Vick under center to start the season after they restructured his contract. Nick Foles, who finished the 2012 season under center for the team, is also still on the roster.
