Chris Cooley not ready to retire

Chris Cooley caught on with the Redskins for the final ten games of the 2012 season. Now the 30-year-old Cooley is not quite ready to call it a career.

“I’m just hanging out and waiting to see what’s going on,” he told the Washington Examiner.

Cooley was cut at the end of training camp last season and then brought back after Fred David went down with an injury. Used sparingly Cooley caught one pass for eight yards.

“We’ll see what happens in the spring. There’s always that situation of staying in good shape and being a guy that’s around sometime halfway through the year. I’ve known a lot of guys that have done it.”

It is highly unlikely that Cooley would return to the Redskins. Washington hopes to have Davis back along with Logan Paulsen.

“I’m not sure what the consensus on my health is around the league. I know how I felt but I don’t know what people think of me,” he said. “I’m getting the idea that people think I’m done physically, which I’m not. I’m in great shape. I could play if I wanted to play in the right opportunity.”
