Jaguars to stick with Blaine Gabbart

The Jacksonville Jaguars will continue to start Blaine Gabbert at the quarterback position.

Head coach Mike Mularkey gave the second year quarterback a vote of confidence insisting that there would be “no drastic changes” for the team. The Jaguars are 1-8 this season.

“Everybody’s responsible,” said Mularkey. “Everybody’s got to play better.” The Jaguars plan to give Gabbert treatment all week for Thursday night’s late-game shoulder injury.

If all goes well Gabbert will start next week against the Houston Texans.

The Jaguars drafted Gabbert with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 draft. Thus far he has struggled to adjust to the starting role in Jacksonville. If he is unable to play he will be replaced by backup Chad Henne.
