Javier Vazquez considering MLB comeback

Javier Vazquez retired after the 2011 season but the right handed pitcher may not have thrown his last pitch.

Vazquez is said to be thinking about a possible comeback according to Peter Gammons. Gammons says that the 36-year-old will pitch after Thanksgiving and then pitch in next years World Baseball Classic. Vazquez will then decide whether he will attempt to return to the majors.

It is unclear who would have interest in Vazquez but with this being a low-risk/high-reward situation plenty of teams could have interest.

In 2011 Vazquez went 13-11 with a 3.69 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 162/50 K/BB ratio over 192 2/3 innings with the Marlins.

A 14-year veteran, Vazquez has a career 165-160 record and a 4.22 ERA. Besides the Marlins, Vazquez has also pitched for the Expos, Yankees, Diamondbacks, White Sox, and Braves.
