Tony Romo ends extension talks with Cowboys to focus on season

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has halted extension talks with the team in order to “concentrate on this season” according to ESPN Dallas. Romo is signed though 2013 and will turn 33 in April.

The Cowboys Executive VP Stephen Jones recently said that the team wanted Romo to retire in Dallas. Currently Dallas is 3-5 and Romo is one of the biggest reasons. Though 8 games Romo has tossed 13 interceptions.

Romo has racked up 2,394 yards thanks in part to the Cowboys trailing in games and a lackluster running game.

Last season Romo set career highs with 4,184 yards passing and 31 touchdowns. He threw just 10 interceptions last season and compiled a 102.5 quarterback rating. This season that rating has dipped to 82.2, which is a career low.
