Justin Tuck: “we’ll end this November curse”

Just when the New York Giants appear to be the class of the NFC something like Sunday happens. The Pittsburgh Steelers came into Met Life Stadium and handed the Giants a 24-20 loss. Defensive end Justin Tuck is hoping the Giants get back to their winning ways.

“Let’s not (repeat) history,” Tuck said, via Newsday. “Unless it’s going to end up how it did last year. For us, we understand what November has meant: Getting off to a fast start and kind of lulling here.

“I don’t think (Sunday) was a case of that,” he went on. “We played hard, we had our shots, but hopefully we can rectify all that next week. We’ve got a huge game out in Cincinnati and I think we’ll be up for it and hopefully we’ll end this November curse.”

The Giants are 13-20 in November under head coach Tom Coughlin.

For his part quarterback Eli Manning is admitting that the passing game struggled but is not about to say that he is in a slump.

“I’m throwing the ball accurately when I have opportunities to. It’s just trying to find guys open and trying to just get in good situations. We had some big plays with pass interference where that accounted for 50 or 100 yards or so on some big ones. Besides that, we’re just not getting our shots down the field as much. It’s not consistent. We just have to do better overall in the passing game.””
