North Carolina stormed back to upend NC State on Satuday. Faced with a ten point deficit entering the fourth the Tar Heels rallied back. They would complete the comeback when Giovani Bernard ran a punt back with 30 seconds to go providing the Tar Heels with a 42-35 victory.
The win was big but so were the helmets and uniforms worn by the Tar Heels. The team rolled out dark blue jersey’s and shiny helmets. Instead the the traditional interlocking NC on the side of the Tar Heels helmets there was something different. A large blue foot was displayed on the helmet. (The traditional Tar Heel helmet can be seen below.)
Shiny helmets and crazy logos are all the rage in college football today and for good reason, they apparently win games.
Will this trend continue or will we all go blind by them?
