Cowboys lose on missed field goal after recovering onside kick

Dan Bailey missed a 51 yard field goal that would have given the Dallas Cowboys a stunning come back win against the Baltimore Ravens. The Cowboys pulled close late in the fourth quarter when Tony Romo found Dez Bryant for a four yard touchdown. Trailing by two the team attempted a two point conversion but failed.

On the ensuing kickoff the Cowboys recovered an onside kick and move the ball into field goal range for Dan Bailey. Bailey’s kick was wide left.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was 17-for26 for 234 yards and the Cowboys held Ray Rice to 63 yards on 16 carries but did allow him to score 2 touchdowns. The Ravens ran a kickoff return back in the third quarter with Jacoby Jones tying an NFL record with a 108 yard return.

The Cowboys nearly had two running backs top 100 yards as DeMarco Murray ran for 93 yards and Felix Jones ran for 92. Romo was 26-for-36 for 261 yards though the air and was picked off once.

Prior to the missed field goal Bailey had successfully connected on three kicks earlier in the game,
