Alex Rodriguez benched for tonight’s series finale Yankees/Orioles matchup

Alex Rodriguez will not be be in the lineup for tonight’s series finale between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles.

Rodriguez, who has come under fire for his poor postseason performance will have to watch the game from the dugout. Eric Chavez is set to play third base in replacement.

Rodriguez has went 2-16 in the series against Baltimore, fans have been calling for Girardi to replace Rodriguez in the lineup, and with a batting average of only .125 we can’t say we blame them.

In game 3 Raul Ibanez pinch hit for Rodriguez in the bottom of the 9th inning. He hit the game-tieing home run that eventually rewarded the Yankees the win after hitting the game-winning home run in the 13th.

In last nights Game 4, Rodriguez was replaced by Eric Chavez.

Tonight is the final game of the American League Division Series between the Yankees and Orioles. The teams are tied 2-2, whoever wins tonight’s game will clinch a spot to play the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS.
