UPDATE: The New York Daily News and ESPN New York are both reporting that the Jets have no interest in signing Terrell Owens to a contract.

To say the Jets are thin at wide receiver is an understatement. The Jets have three healthy wide-outs and have shown to be one of the worst offensive teams in football.
Tuesday morning Jets coach Rex Ryan did not suggest the Jets were considering Owens but he did not rule out the matter either. “You never say never to anything,” he said. “You look at your situation. I would assume we’d go with the same crew.”
Veterans Plaxico Burress, who spent last season with the team, and Chad Johnson are also looking for work.
Owens, 38, has not played in the NFL since the 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals. That season Owens caught 72 passes for 983 yards and 9 touchdowns. The flamboyant yet controversial receiver has also played for San Fransisco, Philadelphia, Dallas and Buffalo. Owens attempted to make the Seattle Seahawks but was cut during the preseason.
