With Santonio Holmes (likely) done for season, Jets sign Jason Hill

The New York Jets signed 27 year-old Jason Hill today in an effort to fix a receiving corp which is dealing with the loss of Santonio Holmes for the season.

Holmes’ foot injury will likely end his season.

The newest addition to the Jets has speed but has never been much of a playmaker. Hill was cut by the Denver Broncos prior to the start of the season and has never had more then 30 catches in a season.

While the Jets turn about the options of promoting Tim Tebow to the starting quarterback role their receivers are among the weakest collection in football. Hill will join Stephen Hill, Chaz Schilens and Jeremy Kerley on the depth chart.

The Jets play against Houston on Monday night. They are currently 2-2 on the year while tied with New England and Buffalo in the AFC East.
