C.J. Wilson will undergo surgery over the winter to remove bone spurs from his pitching elbow. The Los Angeles Angels starter has four years and $64 million left on his contract.
Wilson said following Monday’s game that he had been dealing with the injury for months and that he had already picked out a time to have the surgery. Wilson does not expect any setbacks prior to spring training.
Wilson topped 200 innings this season and finished with a 3.83 ERA and a 173/91 K/BB ratio and a 1.34 WHIP. Wilson previously had pitched with the Texas Rangers.
