New York Jets’ coach Rex Ryan reiterated during a Monday press conference that Mark Sanchez is their quarterback. “He’s definitely our guy,” Ryan insisted. “I know this is killing him. He’s going to want to respond.”
Many fans have been talking about Tim Tebow, thinking his time is coming since Sanchez has been struggling, completing fewer than 50% of his passes in the last three games. He’s completed just 49.2 percent of his passes, which is only 2.7 percent more accurate than Tim Tebow was for the Broncos in 2011 though. With the Texans’ No. 2 pass defense coming to town in Week 5, Sanchez is going to have to work hard to prove himself.
Santonio Holmes has already been ruled out for Week 5. Coach Ryan confirmed that x-rays came back negative but they don’t have a firm diagnosis. He ruled out damage to the Achilles’ tendon before adding “it’s hard to say” if Holmes has a Lisfranc injury. They are saying its a “multi-week” injury and he will be seeing a foot specialist.
