NASCAR could come down hard on the No.27 team after discovering irregularities with the frame rails on the car driven by Menard.

Menard’s car was 1 of the 6 chosen by NASCAR after the race to undergo additional inspection, so its possible they had already known his car was not up to regulation.  His car was taken to the Research and Development Center in Cordcord, NC.

Menard finished ninth at the Pure Michigan 400, it was his 5th top ten this season.
