Elliott Sadler sets new track record while qualifying on pole at Iowa

Elliott Sadler set a new track record during qualifying at Iowa Speedway this afternoon.  He ran a lap speed of 23.309 and qualified on the pole for Saturday nights US Cellular 250. This is Sadler’s fourth track record and fourth pole of this season.

By qualifying on the pole Sadler gave Chevrolet its third pole at Iowa. It’s Chevy’s 10th pole of 2012, most of all makes.

Sadler’s his other poles came at Las Vegas, Talladega, and the Spring Iowa race. He finished 3rd, 10th and 2nd in those races. He has been to victory lane three times this season; his wins came at Phoenix, Bristol and Chicago.

Sadler is one point ahead of team mate Austin Dillion for the Nationwide Series championship.
