Brian Vickers will race for Waltrip in six races

Last week Elliott Sadler was said to be driving the #55 of Michael Waltrip Racing for six races. After Sadler won the Nationwide race at Phoenix his team owner Richard Childress had a sit down talk with the driver and suddenly Sadler was out of the deal.

Now word has come that Brian Vickers will drive the car. Vickers first time behind the wheel will come next weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. In his career Vickers has two wins at the Sprint Cup level.

Previously Vickers had driven for Red Bull Racing but lost his ride over the winter when the team decided to leave the sport. Vickers also drove for Hendrick Motorsports earlier in his career.

Vickers worked his way into the Chase for the Sprint Cup in 2009 but missed most of 2010 while dealing with blood clotting in his legs. His 2011 season was filled with incidents in which he ran into other drivers most notably Matt Kenseth, Marcos Ambrose and multiple single car incidents at Martinsville.
