Gordon fares well in early stages of Dakar

Robby Gordon is proving his marketing slogan correct again this year as the veteran racer is competing in the Dakar Rally. Driving his own Speed Energy Hummer Gordon is also providing a truck for last years winner Nasser Al Attiyah. Attiyah won yesterdays stage is has moved up to sixth overall after requiring assistance from Gordon on day one.

Gordon himself is also doing well though. The recently turned 43 year old finised stage two with a third place finish.

Currently sitting in second page 2 minutes and 28 seconds back of the leader. He is scheduled to go out at 10:22 ET this morning for the start of stage three.

Last year Gordon broke down during the event and was unable to finish.

For those interested and having trouble following the event the best place to keep up to date is at the Planet Robby Facebook page.
