Ragan claims Indianapolis pole

David Ragan continued the trend of Roush Fenway cars atop the time sheets at Indianapolis claiming the pole for Sunday’s race. Teammates Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle (2nd and 3rd sessions) posted the fastest laps in the first three practices.

Ragan finished as the fifth fastest car in both practices but topped the score sheet during qualifying with a lap of 182.994 mph nudging out Kasey Kahne. Jimmie Johnson who was the  17th car out on the track will start third with the Penske Dodges of Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski rounding out the top five.

Ragan’s teammates will also start near the front of the field. Kenseth will start ninth, with Carl Edwards along side him in tenth. Biffle will start eighteenth.
