Total Divas’ star Eva Marie made her wrestling debut on last Monday’s edition of WWE Raw. Fellow Total Divas girls, JoJo and Natalya defeated Alicia Fox, Aksana and Rosa Mendes in a Six-Diva Tag Team Match. You can watch the match below.
Eva Marie’s performance drew a lot of negative reviews online, as her inexperience was really put on display before millions of viewers (prior to the match, she had only wrestled before a live crowd once, a non-televised tag team bout at SummerSlam Axxess in August). It has since come out that this reaction was sought within WWE as she was purposely set up to fail by members of management according to Dave Meltzer on F4WOnline.com.
According to Metlzer, WWE officials wanted to knock Marie’s confidence down a few pegs, since they feel she has an undeserved ego and doesn’t realize how much she has to learn as a performer. Therefore, they had her sink on national television in hopes of making her humble.
Ouch.
This does not come as a surprise – as if you have seen Total Divas Eva Marie is quite the confident character. If WWE was hoping to teach her a lesson, hopefully it worked and she continues to work hard to boost her skill level.
