WWE SmackDown (Airing on Friday, September 6, 2013)

-Triple H will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on SmackDown tonight. This fact was promoted during the Main Event tapings as well.

-All of the wrestlers are out on the stage for the Town Hall Meeting. Christian is out there as well, despite the reports of his concussion. Triple H, Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox now come out to the ring. We see highlights from RAW of Randy Orton beating Cody Rhodes. The crowd boo’s loudly when they recap Rhodes being fired. After this, the SmackDown opening music plays.

-HHH starts by talking about how he didn’t want to fire Cody Rhodes. He said Cody Rhodes fired Cody Rhodes. HHH gave him a chance to fight for his job. He said he doesn’t want anyone being afraid for their jobs, so he opened the meeting up to questions from the Superstars. No one steps forward. HHH says he wants everyone to grow together. Damien Sandow steps forward. He said he supports the firing of Cody Rhodes. HHH says he doesn’t want them to kiss his butt like that. Kofi Kingston steps up and says the locker room is afraid because Rhodes was fired, and that doesn’t seem to be best for business. Heath Slater steps up and complains that Big Show didn’t step up. HHH thanks Slater for emptying what he is sure is the entire content of his mind. Rob Van Dam steps up and says what’s been happening isn’t cool, dude. HHH says he’s been waiting since 2000 to hear Van Dam call him dude. Ryback steps up and complains about being called a bully. HHH books a rematch between Ryback and Dolph Ziggler for tonight. HHH talks about Daniel Bryan not being on the stage. He claims it’s because Bryan’s ego is now out of control. HHH says Bryan can select any member of The Shield to face tonight on SmackDown. HHH also books a non-title match between Curtis Axel and Kofi Kingston. He also books Rob Van Dam vs. Randy Orton. HHH introduces Randy Orton. Orton vs. RVD is up next.

-Rondy Orton defeated Rob Van Dam. Alberto Del Rio sat in on commentary during this match. Ricardo Rodriguez didn’t do the intro for Van Dam. Del Rio ends up running Ricardo Rodriguez face-first into the ringside post. This leads to RVD hitting Del Rio with a big flip. RVD spent the rest of the match selling his arm after that spot. Orton ends up taking this one with the RKO.

-Renee Young interviews Daniel Bryan. Bryan says he was told by management not to attend the Town Hall Meeting earlier. Bryan says he’ll let The Shield decide which one of them will face him, since he knows it won’t end up being a fair one-on-one match anyways.

-AJ Lee is interviewed. She talks about how she’d rather defend her Divas Title against Layla, Alicia and Aksana instead of anyone on the cast of Total Divas.

-Ryback defeated Dolph Ziggler. Once again, Dean Ambrose attacked Ziggler prior to the match. Ryback then came out and beat what was left of Ziggler. Pretty much the same thing as RAW.

-Kofi Kingston defeated Curtis Axel (with Paul Heyman) in a Non-Title Match. Crowd actually had loud dueling chants for both guys at one point in this one. In the end, Kingston got the win with the SOS.

-The Wyatt Family video from Monday’s RAW aired.

-Naomi and Brie Bella fight to a No Contest. The crowd was dead for most of this. The Divas that AJ riled up earlier, Aksana, Alicia and Layla, attacked both girls, leading to the No Cnotest ruling. Layla then introduced AJ Lee.

-Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro (with Zeb Colter) defeated The Usos. Colter cut a promo before the match. The finish came when Swagger knocked one of the Uso’s off the top, and Cesaro caught him with an uppercut on the way down for the pin.

-Backstage, Triple H tells Big Show to treat the members of 3MB like human stress balls by blowing off steam.

-Big Show defeated 3MB in a Handicap Match. Big Show hit a double-chokeslam on Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal. He then hit Heath Slater with the KO punch for the 1-2-3. 3MB leaves, then Daniel Bryan intro. Big Show headed to the stage, and HHH leads him to the back while The Shield comes out through the crowd.

-Daniel Bryan defeated Seth Rollins. Rollins was picked as the member of The Shield to face Bryan. Reigns and Ambrose stayed at ringside. The finish came when Bryan caught Rollins coming off the top-rope in the Yes! Lock. Bryan gets distracted, but ends up hitting a running knee instead for the pinfall victory. Bryan heads up to the stage to celebrate after the match, only to be hit from behind with the belt. Randy Orton stands over Bryan as the show ends.

Post-Show Dark Match:

-After the taping ended, Vickie Guerrero came down to ringside. She mocks Daniel Bryan a bit before telling him he better get up because she promised the people a championship match. This leads to Bryan vs. Orton for the title.

-Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton via Disqualification in a WWE Championship Match. The finish came when Bryan had Orton in the Yes! Lock, but The Shield came down and interfered, causing the DQ. This leads to RVD, Ziggler and Kingston coming out to make the save. Bryan’s music then plays as the babyfaces celebrate. This ends the event.
