Ole Einar Bjorndalen can finally lay claim to being the most decorated athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics.
He needed some help from his country mates to reach that mark doing so in Wednesday’s event Mixed event which consisted of of 2x6km Women and a Men’s 2×7.5 km.
Tora Berger, Tiril Eckhoff and Emil Hegle Svendsen made up the team with Bjoerndalen.
Bjorndalen, 40, won a gold in the Men’s 10 km sprint earlier in these Olympics. In his career he holds eight golds, four silvers and a bronze medal.
