Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic won the gold medal in the Women’s 5000 m Speed Skating event on Wednesday.
Sablikova beat out Ireen Wust of the Netherlands by 2.74 seconds. Carien Kleibeuker of the Netherlands finished with the bronze medal.
The only woman from the United States in the event was Maria Lamb who finished 16th 38.10 seconds behind.
