\nSo much for those early season talks that Jaromir Jagr was preparing for retirement.<\/p>\n

Jagr, 42, has agreed on a one-year deal worth between $5 million and $6 million according to the Newark Star-Ledger<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Well, in some ways it is (a done deal), but (Devils general manager) Lou Lamoriello is going to let it (be announced) when he’s ready,” Petr Svoboda, Jagr’s agent, told NJ.com. “Sorry, but I’ll let Lou do what he’s going to do.”<\/p>\n

Jagr led the Devils in scoring with 24 goals and 67 point this season. He played in all 82 games this past season averaging 19 minutes a game.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike I said, I like it here a lot,\u201d Jagr said following the Devils season finale. \u201cNo question about it. At my age, it’s pretty tough to change teams year after year. It took me at least 15 to 20 games to get used to the players. It’s not easy to play in this league, plus you have to get used to new players and new system.
