That contract expires on June 30.<\/p>\n<p>Vanek has 19 goals and 28 assists in 54 games this season with the Islanders.<\/p>\n<p>According to Newsday:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Steve Bartlett, Vanek&#8217;s agent, told Newsday on Monday morning that he and Snow have not talked in the past several days. Bartlett said Vanek has not closed the door on the Islanders but added that his client &#8220;has no real deadline&#8221; to let the team know he intends to go to unrestricted free agency on July 1.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Vanek was traded from the\u00a0Sabres on Oct. 27, in a deal that sent\u00a0Matt Moulson, a first-rounder and a second-rounder to Buffalo.<\/p>\n<p>Vanek will represent Austria in the 2014 Winter Olympic&#8217;s in Russia later this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thomas Vanek has turned down the Isles contract offer, according to multiple sources on Monday.
