The Chicago Blackhawks will be without team captain for the rest of the regular season.
While this had been expected the news was confirmed by Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville on Wednesday who said that the center will be “100 percent” for the playoffs.

“He’s day-to-day. He’ll be 100 percent for the playoffs,” Quenneville said. “We’re not going to play him for the rest of these six games so he’ll be ready to go.”
Toews was injured when he was hit by Pittsburgh’s Brooks Orpik on Sunday. He had 28 goals and 68 points in 76 games prior to the injury.
