The team ideally will work out an extension with Smith and wide receiver Dez Bryant soon. <\/p>\n<p>Smith\u2019s base salary in 2014 will remain $2.079 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys selected Smith as the ninth overall pick in the 2011 draft. <\/p>\n<p>While the Cowboys may want to know more about the salary cap in 2015, waiting to re-sign Smith could end up benefitting him more as other tackles figure to lock up deals in due time. <\/p>\n<p>Smith has missed just one game in his NFL career.
