Free agent Chris Johnson left Tuesday’s visit with the New York Jets without a contract but that is not a cause for concern according to the running back.<\/p>\n

“I’m just taking it one day at a time, taking my time, and whatever decision I make, it will be the best decision,” said Johnson to reporters on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

After visiting with the Jets he took in the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks game and got a cheer when he appeared on the jumbotron.<\/p>\n

The Jets were likely unwilling to meet Johnson’s contract demands. No running back has fared well on the open market this year and Johns0n is probably a little slighted that he will no be getting the $7 million he was set to receive in Tennessee prior to his release.<\/p>\n

ESPN New York speculates<\/a> that the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills could all have interest in Johnson.<\/p>\n

There is also the potability that Johnson returns to the Jets and accepts a deal. The Jets have roughly $26 million in cap space and would pair him in a rotation with Chris Ivory.<\/p>\n

Now 28, Johnson has seemingly been in decline since his 2,000 yard season in 2009. In 2013 he ran for 1,077 yards with a career low 3.9 average. Johnson has proven to be durable \u00a0playing in all 16 games in each of the last five seasons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
