Overall Flynn was 2-2 as a starter for the Packers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to have Matt back,\u201d McCarthy said on Tuesday at the NFL Meetings, via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espnwisconsin.com\/common\/more.php?m=49&amp;post_id=36681\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">ESPN Wisconsin<\/a>. \u201cI thought Matt was a good addition to our football team. I have great respect and admiration for him, just being around him a lot on a positional basis. Yeah, I\u2019m hoping financially it works out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Flynn began 2013 being traded from Seattle to Oakland. After one start there he was released and later signed with Buffalo. After the Bills released him he signed on with the Packers following injuries to Aaron Rodgers and Seneca Wallace.<\/p>\n<p>If re-signed Flynn would compete with Scott Tolzien for the job of Rodgers backup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo I like Matt Flynn in the quarterback room? Absolutely,\u201d McCarthy said. \u201cNot only Matt as a player, but there\u2019s value he has. He\u2019s been there, he\u2019s got experience, his relationship with Aaron. He carries a lot of value. That\u2019s added value. But also you have to continue to improve. How do you improve?
