While Smith may not be the long-term answer for the Chiefs they would have a tough time finding a better signal caller over the next couple of seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Smith had the best season of his career in 2013 as he got more comfortable in the Chiefs offense as the year went. He set career highs with 3,313 yards passing and 23 touchdowns while tossing seven interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>No timetable has been set for a deal to get finished. One could wonder what the Chiefs have to lose by letting this one playout though the 2014 season.
