We can’t say we are surprised that it has finally happened. It was only a matter of time before New York Jets players came out with their true feelings about their back-up quarterback, Tim Tebow.<\/p>\n

In Wednesday’s edition of the New York Daily News<\/a>, more than a dozen Jets players voiced their opinions on Tebow, one even calling him, “terrible.” and saying that he hasn’t improved since March.<\/p>\n

The only Jets player that permitted his name in the story was Matt Slauson, who said he supports QB Mark Sanchez and thinks he is the best option for the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not even close,\u201d Slauson said. \u201cAll the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don\u2019t really have a choice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

One veteran player was asked if he thought the Jets could win with Tebow as QB,\u201cDo I have to answer that question?\u201d the unidentified starter replied while shaking his head.Most players on the team don’t think of Tebow as a starter, but more of the “wild cat”, and they only see him playing in an emergency role,\u00a0 “It would take extreme poor play. … like a five-interception game. Something where it was just ridiculous,”said one Jets player.<\/p>\n

They don’t believe his success in Denver last year is sustainable,\u00a0 \u201cWe can\u2019t win running that sh–,\u201d another player said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It seems like now is a test of faith for Tebow – with many players speaking publicly of their dislike for the back-up. The team believes Sanchez is the best option for the team going forward – even with a 3-6 record.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
