Norv Turner is widely respected for his offensive play calling and that has Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson excited about his teams new offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n

“I’ll tell you, our pass offense has really struggled in the past couple years,” Adrian Peterson told USA TODAY Sports<\/a> in a phone interview Monday. “I think (Turner) is going to be the perfect guy to come in and get us on the right path.”<\/p>\n

The Vikings have not finished higher then 23rd in passing since the 2009 season which saw Brett Favre as the teams quarterback.<\/p>\n

A reliance on Peterson coupled with a poor cast of quarterbacks have kept the Vikings passing numbers in check.<\/p>\n

“He’s a brilliant mind, obviously,” Peterson said of Turner. “I’m still sitting back and seeing whatever moves we make as far as coaches and players.”<\/p>\n

Peterson finished the 2013 season with 1,266 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
